At the beginning of January we welcomed a baby boy, Ralph! As you can imagine, this month has been full of caring for a newborn… but I did manage to read quite a lot while nursing. So for my January favourites I’m focusing on sharing some books I enjoyed. Maybe you’ll want to check them out, too.
Novels
Picture Books
The girls also went through stacks of picture books. Here are three with interesting illustrations, all in different styles.
Bible Verses
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” – 1 Peter 1:8-9
What are some of your January favourites? (Read any good books lately?)
I loved seeing more pictures of Ralph! He’s a cutie.
Thanks! (By the way, I’m excited that you’re reviewing the books you read this year on your blog.)
Congratulations! He’s adorable!
Thank you, Christine!
