I mentioned in my email newsletter, The Mouse & Pencil (click here if you’d like to subscribe), that January has been a rough month. If you know me offline you know that I’ve been dealing with disappointment, frustration, shock, and grief.
That said, this is a space where I share things that are brightening my days. So here are some of the things I’m grateful for during a difficult time.
Cold Zing tea from my favourite tea store
This board game
This cookbook (I plan to make the spiced mango butter soon)
This couple quiz app (Contact me if you want to try it because there are perks if you recommend it to your friends!)
A bowling date with my husband (I did a terrible job but enjoyed myself nonetheless)
Rereading Sense and Sensibility
Picking up books at the library, taking the kids to the zoo, Skyping with friends/relatives, watching Shark Tank, eating dark chocolate…
To conclude, here’s a comforting Bible passage:
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:35-40)
What were your favourite things in January?
P.S. I’ve linked up with Modern Mrs. Darcy here.
Oh, we have a copy of that board game in the cabinets at work! (I work in a school). It’s worth ulling it out to play, then?
I’m by no means a board game aficionado but I really enjoy this one!
What an encouraging list Margaret! <3
Our daughter has a fun game we played when visiting over Christmas…Qwirkle.
Oh yes, I’ve played that a couple of times. It’s a good one!
