Looking back I see that I learned a lot of interesting things in July. I hope you can say the same!
- I love dahlias. This is my third summer attempting to grow flowers in two planters on my front steps. Every year I try different flowers and so far dahlias have been the most hardy and profuse.
2. Kansas City, Missouri has more fountains than any city other than Rome.
3. Only 4% of births in Alberta are attended by midwives.
4. Many blind people have trouble sleeping at night because they don’t experience the rhythms of light and dark.
5. George Bernard Shaw is the only person who has won both a Nobel Prize and an Oscar.
6. Stir fried ice cream is a type of street food in Thailand.
7. For optimal preservation of homemade freezer meals, you should cool them completely in the fridge before freezing.
(I have not tried this yet, but it could be a game-changer.)
8. Professional bloggers might get paid a lot for sponsored posts, but they also put a lot of time and effort into them. Learn more in this episode of Young House Love Has a Podcast.
These are all very interesting! I knew about 2 and 4 already. (Number 2 is from the Happier podcast, right?)
Yes! Did you watch the ice cream video?
Hello! I’m visiting from Emily Freeman’s link-up post and really enjoyed reading the interesting facts you learned this month. What’s even more interesting is that when I clicked over to your bio page, I learned that we have something in common. I also grew up in Southern Ontario, although in the Niagara Peninsula, and now reside in Massachusetts with my husband and two sons (he is from New England). How nice to “meet” you online. Small world, eh?
Yes, it is a small world! I read your post on things you learned this summer and especially liked, “Almond milk creamer should NOT be used as infant formula.” 🙂
Hi! I am your neighbor at the link-up and loved learning more fun facts from your post! I did know that about Kansas City however…I lived there for a few years and the fountains are beautiful there! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. I would love to visit Kansas City someday!
