Welcome to my second vocabulary quiz.
If you missed the first one, you can still take it here.
Over the past few months I’ve been collecting words that are new to me (or that I’ve seen before but couldn’t define without a dictionary). Then I had fun making up fake definitions to see if I can trick my readers.
Let’s see how you do!
Don’t forget to share your score (and comments) below.
I love this quiz. I got the same score as last time (65 percent) and I bet Shelley will beat me again!
This is fun. It’s like our own game of Balderdash. I got 85%, several by luck alone, and several that I also just learned lately, like paleography and muniment. (Didn’t you teach “muniment” to us just a short time ago, Margaret?)
@Lori Ferguson Good catch! I mentioned “muniment” in my email newsletter.
35%! Well…at least I tried!
@oliviascribbles E for effort!
I got 40%. The only reason I know “humectant” is from reading articles about hair product ingredients!
Emily, twinsies! I got 40% too. Most of the ones I got right were because I looked for a root word that I knew.
Yeah, that’s what I attempted to do as well. 🙂 Good for us!
The ones I guessed, I generally got right. The ones I thought I knew, not so much! 75% overall. Almost half of the words were completely new to me; great fun!
This was fun! I only got 50% and most of the words were new to me.
